Royston's Bday and Scouts

For Royston's bday this year, we did a Minecraft/lego/Angry birds theme.  And how did he want to spend the day?  Stay home and do lego's in his underwear...  all day.

He loved the Minecraft figures and streamers we put on his door.

He built these lego towers specially for the occasion.

Not long after, he joined the bear clan and earned his wolf badge in cub scouts.  Way to go!!

 Shooting arrows with Hortin Hears a Who & Grandma Lucie.  Royce kicked some serious butt, but Hortin & Grandma were catching on pretty quickly.

 We were able to spend some time with cousins, & decided to take them to the zoo with us!

 We saved the best for last...the train!

 The next day we spent some time at the gardens.  I think they may have liked this even better than the zoo.  The weather was perfect & they had plenty of time to run around and play however they chose.

 We went to dinner for Grandma Lucie's birthday and these three decided to share a meal.  Syd very maturely ordered a chimichanga plate with a side of fries for them to share.

Royce has wanted to build a trebuchet for years, and he finally got the chance!  Uncle Glenn and Ty helped him to build this model & they were launching huge rocks & then finally water balloons.  A dream come true for that man for sure!

Vance Adventure Weekend & Crazy Hair Day 2012

 Vance cousins all together over Vance Adventure Weekend 2012.  The weather didn't want to cooperate but we had an amazing time at the zoo and Lagoon and getting to see the fam, thank you Grandpa & Grandma!!

 Royce's hair for Crazy Hair Day 2012.   His mohawk is colored hot pink on one side and black on another with blue tips and the sides are a camo pattern.  I knew I killed it when I walked by the bathroom and saw him flexing and making tough faces in the mirror. 

 Syd wanted to have upside down braids of pink, black, and blue with a crazy mess of hair on top.  I was excited that it turned out how she liked it.

 Same spot of the usual Crazy Hair Day pics, this time they are soo much bigger.   They are both growing too fast and although I try to negotiate growth spurts closer to when clothes are on sale, so far I am out of luck.

 Here is the other view of the other sides, so glad my kids love this and ask for this every year.  They always win, but the standards gets higher and higher so I am not sure how long this will last.   I love these kids and as long as they want it they've got it!

 We have had so much fun fishing already this year...can't wait to see how many more fish we can catch.

 The kids have great luck fishing with their Grandpa Buggy's pole- Wonder Rod! (Although this isn't said pole).

Mother's Day 2012

 Happy Mother's Day!  I had an amazing weekend with my family and both sides of extended families. Syd wanted to stay and snuggle with Grandma as long as she possibly could before we had to head home.

 Sitting in chairs that they used to sit in 6 years ago when we would frequent Red Butte Gardens all through the year and take fun picnics to eat in this hut.

 Under gorgeous wisteria at the gardens, the smell was wonderful!  It was an absolutely perfect day thanks to my hubby & kids, thank you!!!

Spring in Full Swing!

 Been busy after getting back from MA.

Massachusetts 2012

 Over spring break we took the kids out to Massachusetts to help us check it out and see different areas we are looking to live in.  They spent a lot of time in the car and they were so good (although they didn't always look happy like they do here).  It was a very productive trip and I am so glad we were able to bring the kids along.  It is a done deal now, so Worcester (or surrounding cute small towns), here we come!

 We found this neat park to take a break and let the kids play and they had this cute carriage to play on.

 They had fun trying to make Tyler dizzy.

 We issued a challenge to see who could hold the top of a push up position the longest.  They both held out for quite some time, both giving each other a hard time and trying to make the other one quit.  The situation was intense and full of laughter and trickery.  Sydney won, but just by a hair and each got a milkshake for their hard work and clever thinking.

 We were lucky enough to get to stay with Aunt Joan and Uncle John in Cape Cod.  First thing we did was take a walk down their street a couple of houses to the beach.

 The kids loved collecting many special treasures and I was the lucky one who got to lug them all home.

 Syd's first lobster!  She wasn't so sure about the taste but she tried a good portion of it and is ready to do it again.  I'm sure she will have many opportunities after we move.

Royce was a little put off by the eyeballs, he kept wondering if they were looking at him and if he had to eat them.  The next day we were eating our lunches at the airport that Uncle John & Aunt Joan thankfully made for us in a pinch and I looked down and he had eaten most of my lobster sandwich while I wasn't looking.
