Kindergarten Graduation

Royce, his buddy Brokk, and the girl he has a crush on,  (sigh.... young love).
Yes, there were tears of joy as my little man graduated from kindergarten.  Never mind the weird faces he was making to the audience, the various noises that came from his mouth, or even the way he pretended to "die" on stage when he received his award for being "Mr. Cool," it was still a precious moment I'll soon not forget.  His teacher was the best, thanks Mrs. Larsen!

Goodbye 2nd Grade!

Syd is done with 2nd grade, wahoo!  She had a great year with a fantastic teacher and a wonderful aid - we really couldn't have hoped for anything better for her.   Well done, Pinner!

Thank goodness for good friends with fun moms that I get to be friends with, too.

Field Day

My offspring had Field Day for school today.  They played games and ate snow cones at a park for the day, with many of them participating in Crazy Hair Day as well.  It was awesome!

Just chillin' with some buds.  Looks a bit too old to be my baby in kindergarten, doesn't he?  He wanted two blue mohawks for his crazy hair.
He has made some good friends this year, smart and well behaved.
Sydney has had an amazing teacher, too!  The class nicknamed her "Barbie."
More crazy hair pics.  It is hard to tell, but Syd had a mohawk of buns down the side of her head with crazy pipe cleaners and ribbons.  It was so much fun.
Pranita and Kristen, A couple of moms I love who have amazing parenting skills!  We had a great time and look forward to next year.

Fun Dinner and a Fantastic Haircut Tirade

Tyler and I ditched the kids last weekend (thanks, Aunt Trishie!) and had dinner with some friends at Benihana downtown.  The company and entertainment were better than the food, but I am glad that we went.  Happy 30th, Jamie!  We had a great time.

So Royce just had a fabulous haircut - and I do mean fabulous.  The real way.  Many times we can't make it to SL to get haircuts so we get stuck getting them here, and I am so tired of people asking me what number clipper guard I want them to use.  Let me get this straight, you are the trained professional who spent 2 years learning how to cut hair and you still need to use the guards?  Isn't that like me taking professional bike riding lessons yet still using my training wheels...?  Hmm...    I just want to pay you to cut my son's hair and trust that you can actually do it- you know, taper and all.  And no, I don't want to have to tell you what number to use.

Graduation Weekend

Yup, Tyler is done edumekayted now-   WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU, DADDY!
The kids surprised him with a fun breakfast party that morning complete with presents they wrapped themselves.
The hooding ceremony was shorter than we thought and we saw several guys from our neighborhood that also got their masters degrees that day.  It was a fun day, one that I hope the kids will remember and think about when they are making their education choices later in life.

We went to Baby Jonas' baby blessing on Sunday and also got to play a bit.  =)
Thanks for the rides,Uncle Nate - they had a blast!
On the way home we stopped at Hill Aerospace Museum and Royce wanted a pic with Blackout.  That was a fun place, much bigger than I thought it would be.  We'll be back for more.
